Much of the advice out there about how to save your smartphone’s battery life is dated or dubious.

Don’t Force-Close Apps

It is a persistent myth. In fact, you may end up creating a bigger drain on your battery.

Turn on Power Saving Mode

Smartphones all have some form of low-power mode. Most Android phones use two power saving modes. The first reduces battery drain by limiting some activity and visual effects. The second is more extreme and will stop most apps from running. These modes are ideal for preserving precious battery life when your battery is low.

Reduce Screen Brightness

Screen brightness has a significant impact on your battery. You can always change the screen brightness by swiping down to open the Control Center on an iOS phone or the notification Shade on an Android phone. You might also adjust the ambient light level based on the ambient lights.

Turn Off Always-On Display and Reduce Screen Timeout

Since the screen is the worst battery drain, it’s also a good idea to reduce how long it’s on for. The lowest setting can be rude, so choose the setting that suits you.

Connect to Wi-Fi and Use Airplane Mode

When you are in an area or building that does not get a strong cell signal. Wherever possible, connect to a Wi-Fi network instead. Make sure you turn on Wi -Fi calling when you are there.

Remove and Restrict Apps

If your investigation found that unused or rarely-used apps have been draining your battery, it’s time to run through your app list and remove nothing you don’t need.

Kill Keyboard Sounds and Vibrations

Not only are keyboard sounds annoying for anyone in the vicinity when you are texting, but they also use a little power? Realistically, turning off keyboard sounds and vibrations will have a negligible impact on battery life.

Avoid Extreme Temperatures

If it is very cold or hot, your battery will suffer.
